Welcome to Lindsay Carey Counselling

Come as you are. I'll do the same. Together we'll build a therapeutic relationship rooted in authenticity, trust, connection,
and maybe even a little bit of humour - creating the foundation for healing, growth, and navigating life's challenges.

Support for you, wherever you're at in your journey.

I believe that meaningful therapy starts with a genuine human connection. That's why I show up as my authentic self—with warmth, honesty, and curiosity—creating a space where my clients can feel comfortable bringing their whole selves, too. My role is to understand your story, meet you where you are, and help you recognize the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. Together, we'll build a relationship grounded in trust, where growth feels possible.

Meet Lindsay (she/her)

I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor (23706), offering psychotherapy services in Port Moody, and virtually across British Columbia. I offer psychotherapy services in Port Moody and online across British Columbia. I have been a Registered Clinical Counsellor since 2023 and have been working in the mental health field in a variety of different capacities since 2016.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from City University, an undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care from Douglas College, and a diploma in Youth Justice from Douglas College.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked within the Youth Criminal Justice System as an Intensive Support and Supervision Worker. I have extensive experience working with concurrent disorders and trauma, as well as supporting others who work in highly intense roles as support workers or caregivers. While running Lindsay Carey Counselling, I also am employed as a Psychiatric Social Worker with Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services.

My Services

Many of the people I work with find themselves asking, “Why do I keep ending up here?” Whether it’s in relationships, emotional reactions, or the way you see yourself, recurring patterns can leave you feeling stuck. Together, we’ll explore where these patterns come from, the purpose they’ve served, and whether they’re still supporting you today. Through curiosity and self-compassion, we’ll create space for new ways of coping, connecting, and moving forward.

My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, and a trauma-informed lens to help you understand how your past experiences shape the way you show up today.

Youth Counselling

Growing up isn't always easy. Whether you're navigating anxiety, friendships, family conflict, identity, or school, I offer a space where you can show up exactly as you are. With my teen client's consent, I try to invite parents and caregivers to participate in session occasionally to strengthen understanding and support growth beyond the therapy room.

Adult Counselling

Life doesn't come with a roadmap. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or noticing patterns that keep showing up in your relationships, work, or the way you relate to yourself. Together, we'll explore what's beneath those patterns with curiosity and compassion, creating space for healing, growth, and lasting change.

Relationship Counselling

Healthy relationships take intention. Whether you're a romantic couple navigating conflict, or two family members working through communication challenges, I'll help you build stronger connections through greater understanding of each other. We'll work together to explore the ways you communicate, navigate conflict, set boundaries, and connect.

*If you have an extended health benefits in British Columbia you may have full or partial coverage for my counselling services as a registered clinical counsellor (RCC). Clients pay directly via credit card and are able to submit receipts to health plan providers for reimbursement.*
